A260 Soft Plus Grips

The A260 “Soft Plus” grip is based on our popular Diamante grip pattern, but with a more “soft” compound. The diamond, or “diamante”, pattern is aggressive enough for a sure grip in any condition, yet very flexible for those that prefer a soft compound. The A260 is also an industry first mold system that injects two colors simultaneously creating the A260 Snake pattern. The Oxford Adventure heated handlebar grips are made especially for adventure bikes. The grips have ergonomically engineered surface structures to optimize riding performance. Thicker rubber in areas of maximum wear; rhombus tread patterns for high levels of grip and feel; diamond tread pattern where maximum grip is required. What really sets the Oxford Adventure Heated Grips apart? The answer is many tried and tested features such as the silicon cables which provide flexibility in the coldest weathers and the winter grade wiring prevents cracking and short circuits; the bonded grip design has been in use for many years and is well proven; the grip compound and thermo plastic rubber construction is designed to absorb vibration making them extremely comfortable and durable, often outlasting standard grips and the silicone wires that come from the grip are angled to eliminate water ingress and resulting corrosion/ice damage and have special unique internal supports which are heat shrunk together to prevent damage if the wires are snagged. These Premium Touring Heaterz are designed as a replacement for the handlebar grips already fitted to the motorcycle. They will fit onto most motorcycles that use 7/8″ (22mm) Ø handlebars. Each grip has an open end to allow the bar end weight to be refitted without the need to trim the grip. The standard length of the Premium Touring Heaterz grip is 4.72″” (120mm). Should the length need to be shortened, they can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.37″ (110mm) without damaging the heating elements. External grip Ø = 1.35″ (34.2mm).

Please take some time to contemplate the differences of the many throttle controls. You will notice the following facts:

  • Quickness: This is the degrees of throttle rotation required to move the cable 1mm distance.   The lower the number of degrees required means the quicker throttle.
  • Stroke: This the maximum distance of cable movement each throttle is capable.
  • Cable: Confirms if throttle control is for one or two cable system.
  • Misc: Color of throttle (if other than black), if grips are included, and if so, what grip color/style.

The G2 Dirt  Tamer Throttle Tube for Yamaha incorporates a non-linear ratio between hand throttle rotation and carburetor or throttle body opening.  The “pulley”, or as we call it, “cam” pulls the throttle cable as the rider rotates the grip/tube.  By altering the conventional, circular shaped cam, a vast improvement in control is achieved.  For most models the Throttle Tamer includes a 400 style cam profile, but some will have alternative cam profiles.  The cam proven to be the best all-round solution for each model is used.

The G2 Dirt  Tamer Throttle Tube has a cam with a reduced radius initially, which requires a slightly farther rotation to achieve the same carburetor or throttle body opening position as a stock throttle.  This slightly longer pull makes a HUGE difference in control as the power is rolled on and the rider searches for traction.  The radius increases or “ramps up” after ½ throttle to keep overall rotation requires to reach full throttle at or near stock rotation.

G2 cams are interchangeable!  You are never “stuck” with a ratio that is not correct for your skill or track condition!  You can always go back to the stock ratio, quicker, or for most models several different progressive control ratios! Cams may be ordered separately, or consider the G2 Throttle Cam System that includes a tube and three cams – 100 (stock), 200 (10% smaller & progressive) and 400 (20% smaller & progressive).
